Founded in 1989, the Danville Public School Foundation through its donations, grant awards and investments provide enhanced educational opportunities for the students attending Danville Public Schools. The Danville Public School Foundation is a IRS 501(c)(3) organization. The Foundation was formed by a group of caring community volunteers. The Foundation Board meets every other month (beginning in July) to review grant proposals, to monitor existing programs, and to manage its investments.
The Danville Public School Foundation was created to be a long-term organization to serve the educational needs of the students attending Danville public schools. For this reason, the Foundation maintains a professionally managed investment portfolio. The interest and dividends earned on investments, along with annual donations, grants and bequests help to ensure that the Foundation can continue its mission. The Foundation board uses a formula suggested by their financial advisor to determine the annual amount of grants awarded annually.
Families, individuals, businesses, community foundations and corporate grants are the generous supporters of the Foundation. We are grateful for every gift. Our students and teachers are fortunate to have this kind of support from the community.
The Danville Public School Foundation Board, comprised of all volunteer community members, decides what grants are funded. The community members represent a broad cross section of our overall community. As representatives for all our donors, our board takes their responsibility in considering all grants very seriously.
The Danville Public School Foundation’s goal is to provide funds to promote, aid, and encourage educational purposes, activities and endeavors for the benefit of Danville Public School students.
