Founded in 1989, the Danville Public School Foundation through its donations, grant awards and investments provide enhanced educational opportunities for the students attending Danville Public Schools. The Danville Public School Foundation is a IRS 501(c)(3) organization. The Foundation was formed by a group of caring community volunteers. The Foundation board meets every other month (beginning in July) to review grant proposals, monitor existing programs, and manage its investments.

Our donors are vital to the Danville Public School Foundation! Financial support for the Foundation comes in many forms: contributions through the Foundation’s annual 365 Club Breakfast, the Foundation’s annual Tee It Up for Education golf outing, grants, bequests and the Walk of Honor brick walk at Danville High School.

The Danville Public School Foundation was created to be a long-term organization to serve the educational needs of the students attending Danville public schools. For this reason, the Foundation maintains a professionally managed investment portfolio. The interest and dividends earned on investments, along with annual donations, grants and bequests help to ensure that the Foundation can continue its mission. The Foundation board uses a formula suggested by their financial advisor to determine the annual amount of grants awarded annually.

Families, individuals, businesses, community foundations and corporate grants are the generous supporters of the Foundation. We are grateful for every gift. Our students and teachers are fortunate to have this kind of support from the community.

The Danville Public School Foundation board, comprised of all volunteer community members, decides what grants are funded. The community members represent a broad cross section of our overall community. As representatives for all our donors, our board takes their responsibility in considering all grants very seriously.

The Danville Public School Foundation’s goal is to provide funds to promote, aid, and encourage educational purposes, activities and endeavors for the benefit of Danville Public School students.

Our funding priorities are to assist in:

  • Providing creative, inspiring, and fun learning experiences in support of the curriculum, which offers students opportunities to expand their knowledge or understanding of a subject.
  • Piloting innovative educational opportunities.
  • Providing school-wide educational assemblies that enriches students’ learning experience.
  • Providing funding for projects in partnerships with Danville Community Consolidated School District 118 consistent with these guidelines.
